WHO WE ARE
Hudson Valley Open Kitchen was established in March 2017 as Poughkeepsie Open Kitchen. Located in the iconic Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory, the space features kitchens and a cafe totaling 3,000 square feet and is available to new and existing food businesses as a place to incubate, create, and grow at an affordable price.
Hudson River Housing, Inc. owns the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory and operates Hudson Valley Open Kitchen, their first commercial endeavor in their 43 year history.
In 2022, due to increased demand for shared-use kitchen space, Hudson River Housing formed an agreement with River Valley Arts Center in Wappingers Falls to manage HVOK’s first satellite kitchen.
WHAT WE DO
Hudson Valley Open Kitchen provides food entrepreneurs and startups with all the tools to develop and grow their business at affordable rates. We believe that through harnessing our collective love of food and community pride, we can build a connected social enterprise that supports all counties of the region.
Our kitchen’s mission is to provide every member with the tools and access needed to make local food widely available to everyone in our community. We foster collaboration amongst members, build connections to local farms and purveyors, and assist in the creation of high-quality products that not only grow our economy but provide rewarding jobs and equal opportunities for all.
